Hadith 645
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ زُهَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمِقْدَامِ الْعِجْلِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبِي ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْغَافِرِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَأْخُذُ رَجُلٌ بِيَدِ أَبِيهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُدْخِلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ ، فَيُنَادَى : أَلا إِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ لا يَدْخُلُهَا مُشْرِكٌ ، قَالَ : فَيَقُولُ : أَيْ رَبِّ ، أَبِي ! ، قَالَ : فَيُحَوَّلُ فِي صُورَةٍ قَبِيحَةٍ ، وَرِيحٍ مُنْتِنَةٍ ، فَيَتْرُكُهُ " قَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ : كَانُوا يَقُولُونَ : إِنَّهُ إِبْرَاهِيمُ ، قَالَ : وَلَمْ يَزِدْهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates: The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "On the Day of Resurrection, a man will take his father's hand and will want to take him into Paradise, but it will be called out: Beware! No polytheist will enter Paradise. Then that person will say: O my Lord! This is my father. The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Then his father will be made extremely ugly and foul-smelling, so that person will leave him." Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id, may Allah be pleased with him, says: People used to say: This refers to the matter of Sayyiduna Ibrahim, peace be upon him (and his father), however, the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, did not say anything further about this.
