Chapter on Having Good Expectations of Allah – Information about Allah’s grace in bestowing blessings on those deserving punishment
Hadith 642
أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدُ بْنُ مُسَرْهَدٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى الْقَطَّانِ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا أَحَدٌ أَصْبَرَ عَلَى أَذًى يَسْمَعُهُ مِنَ اللَّهِ ، يَجْعَلُونَ لَهُ نِدًّا وَيَجْعَلُونَ لَهُ وَلَدًا ، وَهُوَ فِي ذَلِكَ يَرْزُقُهُمْ وَيُعَافِيهِمْ وَيُعْطِيهِمْ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Qais (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No one is more patient over a hurtful thing he hears than Allah, people associate partners with Him, people attribute children to Him, and yet He provides them with sustenance, grants them well-being, and bestows (various kinds of blessings) upon them."
