Hadith 639
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، وَذَكَرَ ابْنُ سَلْمٍ آخَرَ مَعَهُ أَنَّ أَبَا يُونُسَ ، حَدَّثَهُمْ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ جَلَّ وَعَلا يَقُولُ : أَنَا عِنْدَ ظَنِّ عَبْدِي بِي ، إِنْ ظَنَّ خَيْرًا فَلَهُ ، وَإِنْ ظَنَّ شَرًّا فَلَهُ " ، قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : أَبُو يُونُسَ هَذَا اسْمُهُ سُلَيْمُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ تَابِعِيٌّ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah the Exalted says: I am as My servant thinks of Me. If he thinks good, then good will be his, and if he thinks evil, then evil will be his."
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The narrator named Abu Yunus is Salim bin Jubair, and he is a Tabi'i.
