Chapter on Having Good Expectations of Allah – Instruction for the Muslim to have good expectations of Allah, even with little effort in worship
Hadith 636
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ ، أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ قَبْلَ مَوْتِهِ بِثَلاثٍ : " لا يَمُوتَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلا وَهُوَ يُحْسِنُ بِاللَّهِ الظَّنَّ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say, three days before his passing: "None of you should die except that he has good expectations from Allah, the Exalted." (That is, every one of you should have good expectations from Allah, the Exalted, at the time of death.)
