Ata narrates: I and Ubaid bin Umair entered in the service of Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), so Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said to Ubaid bin Umair: Now you have found the opportunity to come to us. He replied: Mother, I will say as someone from the people before said: Meet with intervals, love increases. Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Do not say such flattering words to us. Ibn Umair said: Please tell us about the most astonishing thing you saw regarding the Prophet (peace be upon him). The narrator says: Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) became silent, then she said: Once, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said at night: O Aisha! Allow me so that I may worship my Lord tonight. I said: By Allah! I love your company and I also love what pleases you. Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace be upon him) stood up, performed ablution well, then stood up and began to offer voluntary prayers. Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace be upon him) began to weep, until the hollow of his eye became wet. Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Then he wept and continued to weep until his beard became wet. Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Then he continued to weep, and wept for so long that the ground became wet. Then Bilal came and called him for the (Fajr) prayer. When he saw him weeping, he said: O Messenger of Allah! Why are you weeping, when Allah Almighty has forgiven your past and future (sins)? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Should I not be a grateful servant? Tonight a verse has been revealed to me. Woe to the one who recites it and does not ponder over it. (That verse is:) "Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth..." This is the complete verse.
