Hadith 610
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي السَّرِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ بِرَجُلٍ يَعِظُ أَخَاهُ فِي الْحَيَاءِ ، فقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " دَعْهُ ، فَإِنَّ الْحَيَاءَ مِنَ الإِيمَانِ " . قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : " دَعْهُ " لَفْظَةُ زَجْرٍ يُرَادُ بِهَا ابْتِدَاءُ أَمْرٍ مُسْتَأْنَفٍ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) passed by a man who was advising his brother regarding modesty. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: Leave him, for modesty is a part of faith.
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:): The words of the narration: "Leave him." This refers to a prohibition that is applied anew at the beginning of the matter.
