Hadith 571
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدَّغُولِيُّ ، كِتَابَةً ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ بِشْرِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، إِذْ مَرَّ رَجُلٌ ، فقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي لأُحِبُّ هَذَا الرَّجُلَ ، قَالَ : " هَلْ أَعْلَمْتَهُ ذَاكَ ؟ " ، قَالَ : لا ، قَالَ : " قُمْ أَعْلِمْهُ " ، فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ ، فقَالَ : يَا هَذَا ، وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لأُحِبُّكَ ، قَالَ : أَحَبَّكَ الَّذِي أَحْبَبْتَنِي لَهُ .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I was sitting with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). A man passed by, and one of those present said, "O Messenger of Allah! I love this person." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "Have you told him this?" He replied, "No." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Get up and tell him." So the man got up, went to him, and said, "O so-and-so! By Allah, I love you." The man replied, "May He for whose sake you love me, love you in return."
