Chapter on Gentleness – Recommendation to be gentle in matters, as Allah loves gentleness
Hadith 547
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْحِزَامِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ الأَوْزَاعِيِّ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى يُحِبُّ الرِّفْقَ فِي الأَمْرِ كُلِّهِ " قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : مَا رَوَى مَالِكٌ ، عَنِ الأَوْزَاعِيِّ إِلا هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ ، وَرَوَى الأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ أَرْبَعَةَ أَحَادِيثَ .
Sayyidah Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty loves gentleness in every matter."
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) Imam Malik has narrated only this narration from Imam Awza'i, whereas Awza'i has narrated four narrations from Imam Malik.
