Hadith 527
أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنِ الْعَلاءِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " أَلا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِخَيْرِكُمْ مِنْ شَرِّكُمْ ؟ " ، فقَالَ رَجُلٌ : بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " خَيْرُكُمْ مَنْ يُرْجَى خَيْرُهُ ، وَيُؤْمَنُ شَرُّهُ ، وَشَرُّكُمْ مَنْ لا يُرْجَى خَيْرُهُ ، وَلا يُؤْمَنُ شَرُّهُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: “Shall I not inform you about your good people as compared to your bad people?” A man submitted: Yes, O Messenger of Allah! The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The best among you are those from whom good is expected and from whose evil people are safe, and your bad people are those from whom good is not expected and from whose evil people are not safe.”
