Chapter on Good Character – Those with good character in this world are among the most beloved to Allah.
Hadith 486
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلاقَةَ ، عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ شَرِيكٍ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، كَأَنَّ عَلَى رُؤُوسِنَا الرَّخَمَ ، مَا يَتَكَلَّمُ مِنَّا مُتَكَلِّمٌ ، إِذْ جَاءَهُ نَاسٌ مِنَ الأَعْرَابِ ، فَقَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَفْتِنَا فِي كَذَا ، أَفْتِنَا فِي كَذَا ، فقَالَ : " أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ، إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ وَضَعَ عَنْكُمُ الْحَرَجَ ، إِلا امْرَأً اقْتَرَضَ مِنْ عِرْضِ أَخِيهِ فَذَاكَ الَّذِي حَرِجَ وَهَلَكَ " قَالُوا : أَفَنَتَدَاوَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَمْ يُنْزِلْ دَاءً إِلا أَنْزَلَ لَهُ دَوَاءً ، غَيْرَ دَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ " ، قَالُوا : وَمَا هُوَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " الْهَرَمُ " ، قَالُوا : فَأَيُّ النَّاسِ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ ، يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " أَحَبُّ النَّاسِ إِلَى اللَّهِ أَحْسَنُهُمْ خُلُقًا " .
Sayyiduna Usama bin Sharik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: "We were present with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). It seemed as if there were birds sitting on our heads. None of us was speaking. During this time, some Bedouins came to your service. They said: O Messenger of Allah! Please give us a verdict regarding this issue. Please give us a verdict regarding this issue. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O people! Allah Almighty has removed hardship from you. Except for the person who tries to dishonor his brother. This is the person who will commit sin and will be destroyed. The people asked: O Messenger of Allah! Can we use medicine? The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes! Allah Almighty has sent down a cure for every disease that He has sent down. There is only one disease that is different. The people asked: O Messenger of Allah! Which one is that? He said: Old age. The people asked: Who is the most beloved person to Allah Almighty? O Messenger of Allah! The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The most beloved among the people to Allah Almighty is the one who has the best character."
