باب حسن الخلق - ذكر البيان بأن من أحب العباد إلى الله وأقربهم من النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم في القيامة من كان أحسن خلقا
Chapter on Good Character – The most beloved and closest to the Prophet on Judgment Day are those with the best character.
Hadith 482
أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ الْخُشَنِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ أَحَبَّكُمْ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَأَقْرَبَكُمْ مِنِّي أَحَاسِنُكُمْ أَخْلاقًا ، وَإِنَّ أَبْغَضَكُمْ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَأَبْعَدَكُمْ مِنِّي الثَّرْثَارُونَ الْمُتَفَيْهِقُونَ الْمُتَشَدِّقُونَ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Tha’labah Khushani (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): “Indeed, the most beloved of you to Allah Almighty and the closest of you to me are those who have the best character among you. And the most disliked of you to Allah Almighty and the farthest of you from me are those who talk excessively, exaggerate in their speech, and speak in an affected manner.”
