Hadith 471
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Dealing with people with good manners is charity."
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The kind treatment that is considered charity for the one who practices it means: a person should make praiseworthy things a part of his character. Along with this, he should keep away from anything in which there is a possibility of disobeying Allah Almighty. Whereas, by indulgence (mudahanat) is meant that a person adopts those traits which are considered good in dealings with people, and among them is included something that Allah Almighty does not like.
