Chapter on Ties of Kinship and Severing Them – The womb’s complaint to Allah about those who sever or mistreat it.
Hadith 442
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ الْجُمَحِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ الْقُرَظِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الرَّحِمُ شِجْنَةٌ مِنَ الرَّحْمَنِ ، مُعَلَّقَةٌ بِالْعَرْشِ ، تَقُولُ : يَا رَبِّ ، إِنِّي قُطِعْتُ ، إِنِّي أُسِيءَ إِلَيَّ ، فَيُجِيبُهَا رَبُّهَا : " أَمَا تَرْضَيْنَ أَنْ أَقْطَعَ مَنْ قَطَعَكِ ، وَأَصِلَ مَنْ وَصَلَكِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The word 'Rahm' (kinship) is derived from 'Rahman' (the Most Merciful). It is hanging from the Throne and says: O my Lord! I have been cut off. I have been wronged. So its Lord says to it: Are you not pleased that I will cut off the one who cuts you off, and I will join the one who joins you?"
