Chapter on Parents’ Rights – Hoping to attain Allah’s pleasure by pleasing one’s father.
Hadith 429
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَبِيبِ بْنِ عَرَبِيٍّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " رِضَاءُ اللَّهِ فِي رِضَاءِ الْوَالِدِ ، وَسَخَطُ اللَّهِ فِي سَخَطِ الْوَالِدِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The pleasure of Allah is in the pleasure of the father, and the displeasure of Allah is in the displeasure of the father.”
