Hadith 420
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ وَهُوَ السَّائِبُ بْنُ فَرُّوخٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أُجَاهِدُ ؟ قَالَ : " لَكَ أَبَوَانِ ؟ " ، قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : " فَفِيهِمَا فَجَاهِدْ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He said: O Messenger of Allah! I want to participate in jihad. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) asked: Do you have parents? He replied: Yes. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: Then serve both of them wholeheartedly.
