Hadith 407
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدَّغُولِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصِ بْنِ غِيَاثٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ سُمَيْعٍ ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ الْبَطِينِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ سَمَّعَ يُسَمِّعُ اللَّهُ بِهِ ، وَمَنْ رَاءَى يُرَائِي اللَّهُ بِهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever acts for fame, Allah will make his fame known, and whoever acts for show, Allah will make his show apparent."
