Chapter on Acts of Obedience and Their Rewards – Qualities by which a person is guaranteed by Allah.
Hadith 372
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ الْقَيْسِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ جَاهَدَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، كَانَ ضَامِنًا عَلَى اللَّهِ ، وَمَنْ عَادَ مَرِيضًا ، كَانَ ضَامِنًا عَلَى اللَّهِ ، وَمَنْ غَدَا إِلَى مَسْجِدٍ أَوْ رَاحَ ، كَانَ ضَامِنًا عَلَى اللَّهِ ، وَمَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَى إِمَامٍ يُعَزِّزُهُ كَانَ ضَامِنًا عَلَى اللَّهِ ، وَمَنْ جَلَسَ فِي بَيْتِهِ لَمْ يَغْتَبْ إِنْسَانًا ، كَانَ ضَامِنًا عَلَى اللَّهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr رضي الله عنه narrates from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal رضي الله عنه that the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "Whoever strives in the path of Allah, he is under Allah's responsibility; and whoever visits a sick person, he is also under Allah's responsibility; and whoever goes to the mosque in the morning or evening, he is under Allah's responsibility; and whoever goes to the ruler of the time in order to help him, he is also under Allah's responsibility; and whoever stays in his house and does not backbite any person, he is also under Allah's responsibility (i.e., he is in His protection)."
