Chapter on Acts of Obedience and Their Rewards – Evidence that Allah loves those honored by people through the love of the wise and devout.
Hadith 364
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أُمَيَّةُ بْنُ بِسْطَامٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ إِذَا أَحَبَّ عَبْدًا نَادَى جِبْرِيلَ : إِنِّي قَدْ أَحْبَبْتُ فُلانًا فَأَحِبَّهُ ، قَالَ : فَيَقُولُ جِبْرِيلُ لأَهْلِ السَّمَاءِ : إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ أَحَبَّ فُلانًا فَأَحِبُّوهُ ، فَيُحِبُّهُ أَهْلُ السَّمَاءِ ، قَالَ : وَيُوضَعُ لَهُ الْقَبُولُ فِي الأَرْضِ ، وَإِذَا أَبْغَضَ عَبْدًا فَمِثْلُ ذَلِكَ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, when Allah the Exalted loves a servant, He says to Jibreel: 'I love such-and-such servant, so you also love him.' Then Jibreel announces to the inhabitants of the heavens: 'Indeed, your Lord loves such-and-such servant, so you all should love him.' Thus, the inhabitants of the heavens begin to love that person. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then acceptance is placed for that person on the earth. And when Allah the Exalted dislikes a servant, then the same happens in that manner."
