Chapter on Acts of Obedience and Their Rewards – One must improve his state so that it leads to loving to meet Allah.
Hadith 363
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ بِمَنْبِجَ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " قَالَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى : إِذَا أَحَبَّ عَبْدِي لِقَائِي ، أَحْبَبْتُ لِقَاءَهُ ، فَإِذَا كَرِهَ لِقَائِي ، كَرِهْتُ لِقَاءَهُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "Allah Almighty says: When My servant likes to be present in My court, I also like his presence, and when he dislikes to be present in My court, I also dislike his presence."
