Chapter on Acts of Obedience and Their Rewards – The Prophet’s saying “Everyone is facilitated” means each is enabled for what was decreed for him.
Hadith 338
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ الْمُعَدِّلُ بِالْفُسْطَاطِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ رَاشِدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ قَتَادَةَ السُّلَمِيُّ ، وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " خَلَقَ اللَّهُ آدَمَ ، ثُمَّ أَخَذَ الْخَلْقَ مِنْ ظَهْرِهِ ، فقَالَ : هَؤُلاءِ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَلا أُبَالِي ، وَهَؤُلاءِ فِي النَّارِ وَلا أُبَالِي " ، قَالَ قَائِلٌ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، فَعَلَى مَاذَا نَعْمَلُ ؟ قَالَ : " عَلَى مَوَاقِعِ الْقَدَرِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Qatadah Salmi, may Allah be pleased with him, who was among the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: "Allah Almighty created Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him), then He brought forth his progeny from his back and said: These will be in Paradise and I do not care, and these will be in Hell and I do not care." A man asked: O Messenger of Allah! Then on what basis should we act? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: On the basis of the decree of destiny."
