Hadith 306
أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ مُجَاشِعٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ الأَحْمَسِيِّ ، قَالَ : أَوَّلُ مَنْ بَدَأَ بِالْخُطْبَةِ قَبْلُ الصَّلاةِ يَوْمَ الْعِيدِ مَرْوَانُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ ، فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ : الصَّلاةُ قَبْلُ الْخُطْبَةِ ! وَمَدَّ بِهَا صَوْتَهُ ، فَقَالَ : تُرِكَ مَا هُنَاكَ أَبَا فُلانٍ ، فَقَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيُّ : أَمَّا هَذَا فَقَدْ قَضَى مَا عَلَيْهِ ، سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " مَنْ رَأَى مُنْكَرًا فَلْيُغَيِّرْهُ بِيَدِهِ ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَبِلِسَانِهِ ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَبِقَلْبِهِ ، وَذَاكَ أَضْعَفُ الإِيمَانِ " .
Tariq bin Shihab Ahmasi narrates: Marwan bin Hakam was the first to begin delivering the sermon before the prayer on the day of Eid. So a man stood up before him and said: Will the prayer be offered before the sermon? He said this in a loud voice, so Marwan said: O Abu Fulan! This method has been abandoned here. Then Sayyiduna Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said: This man has fulfilled what was required of him. I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) say: "When any one of you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; if he is not able to do so, then with his tongue; and if he is not able to do so, then with his heart—and that is the weakest level of faith."
