باب الصدق والأمر بالمعروف والنهي عن المنكر - ذكر البيان بأن المنكر والظلم إذا ظهرا كان على من علم تغييرهما حذر عموم العقوبة إياهم بهما-
Chapter on Truthfulness and Enjoining Good and Forbidding Evil – When evil and injustice appear, those aware must act to avoid collective punishment.
Hadith 304
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيَمَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، قَالَ : قَرَأَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقُ هَذِهِ الآيَةَ : يَأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْفُسَكُمْ لا يَضُرُّكُمْ مَنْ ضَلَّ إِذَا اهْتَدَيْتُمْ سورة المائدة آية 105 ، قَالَ : إِنَّ النَّاسَ يَضَعُونَ هَذِهِ الآيَةَ عَلَى غَيْرِ مَوْضِعِهَا ، أَلا وَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ النَّاسَ رَأَوَا الظَّالِمَ فَلَمْ يَأْخُذُوا عَلَى يَدَيْهِ أَوْ قَالَ : الْمُنْكَرَ فَلَمْ يُغَيِّرُوهُ عَمَّهُمُ الِلَّهِ بِعِقَابِهِ " .
Qais bin Abu Hazim narrates: Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) recited this verse: "O you who believe! Take care of your own selves. If you follow the right guidance, no harm can come to you from those who are astray." Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: People take the wrong meaning from this verse. Beware! I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Indeed, when people see an oppressor and do not restrain his hands—(the narrator is unsure, perhaps these are the words)—when they see a sin and do not stop it, then Allah the Exalted will send punishment upon all those people."
