Hadith 293
أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ سَلْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيَمَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَغَارُ ، وَالْمُؤْمِنُ يَغَارُ ، فَغَيْرَةُ اللَّهِ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ الْمُؤْمِنُ مَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates this statement of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him: "Indeed, Allah Almighty is possessive, and the believer is also possessive." Allah Almighty's possessiveness is that a believer commits something which Allah Almighty has declared unlawful."
