Chapter: Truthfulness, Commanding Good, and Forbidding Evil – Denial of meeting the Prophet at the Pond for those who aid rulers in their injustice or affirm their lies
Hadith 283
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيَمَ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُلائِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَصِينٍ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْعَدَوِيِّ ، عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ ، قَالَ : خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَنَحْنُ جُلُوسٌ عَلَى وِسَادَةٍ مِنْ أَدَمٍ ، فَقَالَ : " سَيَكُونُ بَعْدَي أُمَرَاءُ ، فَمَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ ، وَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ ، وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ ، فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ ، وَلَيْسَ يَرِدُ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ ، وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ ، فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ ، وَهُوَ وَارِدٌ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ " الْمُلائِيُّ هُوَ أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ الْفَضْلُ بْنُ دُكَيْنٍ .
Sayyiduna Ka’b bin ‘Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us while we were sitting on a leather cushion. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Soon after me, there will come some rulers. Whoever goes to them, affirms their lies, and helps them in their oppression, he will have no connection with me, and I will have no connection with him, and he will not be able to come to me at my Pond. And whoever does not affirm their lies and does not help them in their oppression, he will have a connection with me and I will have a connection with him, and he will come to me at my Pond.”
Imam Ibn Hibban (may Allah have mercy on him) says: The narrator named Malai is Abu Nu‘aym Fadl bin Dukayn.
