Chapter: Truthfulness, Commanding Good, and Forbidding Evil – Denial of meeting the Prophet at the Pond for those who affirm rulers’ lies
Hadith 282
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ الأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ، قَال : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِصَامِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَصِينٍ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْعَدَوِيِّ ، عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ ، قَالَ : خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَنَحْنُ تِسْعَةٌ ، وَبَيْنَنَا وِسَادَةٌ مِنْ أَدَمٍ ، فَقَالَ : " سَيَكُونُ مِنْ بَعْدَي أُمَرَاءُ ، فَمَنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ ، فَصَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ ، وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ ، فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ ، وَلا يَرِدُ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَدْخُلْ عَلَيْهِمْ ، وَلَمْ يُصَدِّقْهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ ، وَلَمْ يُعِنْهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ ، فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ ، وَسَيَرِدُ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ " أَبُو حَصِينٍ : عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ ، قَالَهُ الشَّيْخُ .
Sayyiduna Ka’b bin ‘Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us while we were nine people. There was a pillow made of leather among us. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “After me, soon some rulers will come. Whoever goes to them, affirms their lies, and helps them in their oppression, he will have no connection with me and I will have no connection with him, and he will not be able to come to me at my Pond. And whoever does not go to them, does not affirm their lies, and does not help them in their oppression, he will have a connection with me and I will have a connection with him, and soon he will come to me at my Pond.” The narrator named Abu Husayn is ‘Uthman bin ‘Asim. This has been stated by the Shaykh.
