Hadith 247
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ قَحْطَبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَظِيمِ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ وَكِيعِ بْنِ عُدُسٍ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ أَبِي رَزِينٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ مَثَلُ النَّحْلَةِ لا تَأْكُلُ إِلا طَيِّبًا ، وَلا تَضَعُ إِلا طَيِّبًا " ، قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : شُعْبَةُ وَاهُمْ فِي قَوْلِهِ : " عُدُسٍ " ، إِنَّمَا هُوَ " حُدُسٍ " كَمَا قَالَهُ حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ وَأُولَئِكَ .
Sayyiduna Abu Razin (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The example of a believer is like that of a date palm tree, which only consumes pure things and only gives pure things."
Imam Ibn Hibban (may Allah have mercy on him) says: The narrator named Shu’bah made a mistake in narrating the name of the narrator as "Adas." The correct word is "Hadas," as narrated by Hammad bin Salamah and other authorities.
