Hadith 239
أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ مُجَاشِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " ثَلاثٌ كُلُّهُنَّ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِ : عِيَادَةُ الْمَرِيضِ ، وَشُهُودُ الْجَنَازَةِ ، وَتَشْمِيتُ الْعَاطِسِ حَمِدَ اللَّهَ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "Three things are obligatory upon every Muslim: visiting the sick, attending the funeral, and when a person who sneezes says 'Alhamdulillah', to respond to him."
