Chapter: Qualities of the Believers – The Prophet’s comparison of believers to a building supporting each other
Hadith 232
أَخْبَرَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ الْقَزَّازُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُقَدْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فِيمَا بَيْنَهُمْ كَمَثَلِ الْبُنْيَانِ ، قَالَ : وَأَدْخَلَ أَصَابِعَ يَدِهِ فِي الأَرْضِ وَقَالَ : يُمْسِكُ بَعْضُهَا بَعْضًا " .
Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The example of the believers in their mutual love is like a building." The narrator says, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) interlaced his fingers and said: "One part of it supports the other."
