Chapter: Obligation of Faith – Clarification that Allah may forgive all sins between Him and His servant for one who does not associate partners with Him
Hadith 226
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ الْمَكِّيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، عَنْ شَرِيكٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ رُفَيْعٍ ، عَنِ الْمَعْرُورِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " قَالَ الِلَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى : يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ لَوْ لَقِيتَنِي بِمِثْلِ الأَرْضِ خَطَايَا لا تُشْرِكُ بِي شَيْئًا ، لَقِيتُكَ بِمِلْءِ الأَرْضِ مَغْفِرَةً " .
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Allah Almighty says: O son of Adam! If you come to Me with sins as much as the earth, but you do not associate anyone with Me, then I will meet you with forgiveness as much as the earth."
