Hadith 219
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيَمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَرْعَرَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَرَمِيُّ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ وَاقَدْ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ النَّاسَ حَتَّى يَشْهَدُوا أَنْ لا إِلَهَ إِلا اللَّهُ وَأَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ، وَيُقِيمُوا الصَّلاةَ ، وَيُؤْتُوا الزَّكَاةَ ، فَفَعَلُوا ذَلِكَ عَصَمُوا مَنَي دِمَاءَهُمْ وَأَمْوَالَهُمْ إِلا بِحَقِّ الإِسْلامِ ، وَحِسَابُهُمْ عَلَى اللَّهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates: The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "I have been commanded to fight the people until they testify that there is no deity except Allah, and that I am the Messenger of Allah, and they establish prayer and pay zakat. When they do that, they will have protected their lives and wealth from me, except for the right of Islam, and their reckoning is with Allah the Exalted."
