Chapter: Obligation of Faith – Clarification that Allah may unite a Muslim and his killer from the disbelievers in Paradise if the latter repents and accepts Islam
Hadith 215
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَضْحَكُ الِلَّهِ إِلَى رَجُلَيْنِ يَقْتُلُ أَحَدُهُمَا الآخَرَ ، وَكِلاهُمَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ : يُقَاتِلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَيُقْتَلُ ، ثُمَّ يَتُوبُ الِلَّهِ عَلَى الْقَاتِلِ ، فَيُقَاتِلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَيُسْتَشْهَدُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Allah smiles at two men, one of whom kills the other, yet both of them enter Paradise. One man is killed while fighting in the way of Allah, then Allah grants the killer the ability to repent, and he too is martyred while fighting in the way of Allah.”
