Hadith 204
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ حُمْرَانَ بْنِ أَبَانَ ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنِّي لأَعْلَمُ كَلِمَةً لا يَقُولُهَا عَبْدٌ حَقًّا مِنْ قَلْبِهِ فَيَمُوتُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ إِلا حَرَّمَهُ الِلَّهِ عَلَى النَّارِ : لا إِلَهَ إِلا اللَّهُ " .
Sayyiduna Uthman Ghani (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I know of a word—whoever servant recites this word with a sincere heart and dies upon it, Allah Almighty will make the Hellfire forbidden for him." That word is: "La ilaha illallah" (There is no god but Allah).
