Chapter: Obligation of Faith – Affirmation of Paradise for one who dies without associating partners with Allah and is free from treachery and theft
Hadith 198
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ الضَّرِيرِ ، وَأُمَيَّةُ بْنُ بِسْطَامٍ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ ، عَنْ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ جَاءَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بَرِيئًا مِنْ ثَلاثٍ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ : الْكِبْرِ وَالْغُلُولِ وَالدَّيْنِ " .
Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "Whoever comes on the Day of Resurrection free from three things will enter Paradise. (These three things are:) arrogance, dishonesty, and debt."
