Hadith 195
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيَمَ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : انْطَلَقَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، نَحْوَ بَقِيعِ الْغَرْقَدْ ، فَانْطَلَقْتُ خَلْفَهُ ، فَقَالَ : " يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ ! " ، فَقُلْتُ : لَبَّيْكَ ثُمَّ سَعْدَيْكَ ، وَأَنَا فِدَاؤُكَ ، فَقَالَ : " الْمُكْثِرُونَ هُمُ الْمُقِلُّونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، إِلا مَنْ قَالَ بِالْمَالِ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا ، عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ " قَالَهَا ثَلاثًا ، ثُمَّ عَرَضَ لَنَا أُحُدٌ ، فَقَالَ : " يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ ، مَا يَسُرُّنِي أَنَّهُ لآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ذَهَبًا يُمْسِي مَعَهُمْ دِينَارٌ أَوْ مِثْقَالٌ " ، فَقُلْتُ : الِلَّهِ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ ، ثُمَّ عَرَضَ لَنَا وَادٍ ، فَاسْتَبْطَنَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَنَزَلَ فِيهِ ، وَجَلَسْتُ عَلَى شَفِيرِهِ ، فَظَنَنْتُ أَنَّ لَهُ حَاجَةً ، فَأَبْطَأَ عَلَيَّ وَسَاءَ ظَنِّي ، فَسَمِعْتُ مُنَاجَاةً ، فَقَالَ : " ذَلِكَ جِبْرِيلُ يُخْبِرُنِي لأُمَّتِي مَنْ شَهِدَ مِنْهُمْ أَنْ لا إِلَهَ إِلا اللَّهُ ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ " ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَإِنْ زَنَى وَإِنْ سَرَقَ ؟ قَالَ : " وَإِنْ زَنَى ، وَإِنْ سَرَقَ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) went towards “Baqi’ Gharqad.” I also started walking behind him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Abu Dharr! I replied: I am present, may I be sacrificed for you. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (In terms of wealth and riches in this world) those who possess abundance will be (in terms of reward and recompense) the ones with little on the Day of Resurrection, except for the person who spends his wealth like this and like this, to his right and to his left (i.e., spends in every direction). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said this three times. Then Mount Uhud came before us. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “O Abu Dharr! I do not like that the family of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) should have gold, and then by evening even a single dinar or a single mithqal of gold remains with them.” I said: Allah and His Messenger know best. Then a valley came before us. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went down to its lower part. You descended and I sat at its edge. I thought perhaps you had gone to relieve yourself. You were delayed in returning, so I began to have bad thoughts. Then I heard the sound of supplication. (Later, I inquired about this) and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: That was Jibreel, who was informing me about my Ummah, that whoever among them testifies that there is no deity except Allah, and that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is the Messenger of Allah, then that person will enter Paradise. (Sayyiduna Abu Dharr, may Allah be pleased with him, says) I said: O Messenger of Allah! Even if he has committed adultery, or even if he has stolen? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Even if he has committed adultery, or even if he has stolen.”
