Hadith 184
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ يُوسُفَ بْنِ حَمْزَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَمَّا أَهْلُ النَّارِ الَّذِينَ هُمْ أَهْلُهَا ، فَإِنَّهُمْ لا يَمُوتُونَ فِيهَا وَلا يَحْيَوْنَ ، وَلَكِنْ نَاسٌ أَصَابَتْهُمُ النَّارُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ ، أَوْ قَالَ : بِخَطَايَاهُمْ ، حَتَّى كَانُوا فَحْمًا إِذْنَ فِي الشَّفَاعَةِ ، فَجِيءَ بِهِمْ ضَبَائِرَ ضَبَائِرَ ، فَبُثُّوا عَلَى أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ ، ثُمَّ قِيلَ : يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ ، أَفِيضُوا عَلَيْهِمْ ، قَالَ : فَيَنْبُتُونَ نَبَاتَ الْحَبَّةِ تَكُونُ فِي حَمِيلِ السَّيْلِ " ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ : كَأَنَّهُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْبَادِيَةِ .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates this statement of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him: "As for the people of Hell, they will remain in Hell; death will not come to them, nor will they (properly) live." But there will be some people whom the fire (will punish) because of their sins (the narrator is in doubt, perhaps these are the words) or because of their mistakes, until when they become like coal, then these people will be called out group by group. They will be placed before the people of Paradise and it will be said: O people of Paradise! Pour water over them. The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, says: Then they will sprout forth just as a seed sprouts forth in the path of flood water. One of those present said: It seems as if the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, has also lived in the wilderness.
