Hadith 153
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ اللَّخْمِيُّ بِعَسْقَلانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي السَّرِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيرَةَ ، قَالَ : سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ ؟ قَالَ : " الإِيمَانُ بِاللَّهِ " ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ مَاذَا ؟ قَالَ : " ثُمَّ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ " ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ مَاذَا ؟ قَالَ : " ثُمَّ حَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! Which deed is the most virtuous? The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “To have faith in Allah.” He asked: Then which one? The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Then striving in the way of Allah.” He asked: Then which one? He said: “Then a righteous Hajj.”
