Chapter: Accountability – The reason why, in the absence of certain conditions, the pen is lifted from recording deeds
Hadith 142
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ حَمَّادٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيَمَ ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " رُفِعَ الْقَلَمُ عَنْ ثَلاثَةٍ : عَنِ النَّائِمِ حَتَّى يَسْتَيْقِظَ ، وَعَنِ الْغُلامِ حَتَّى يَحْتَلِمَ ، وَعَنِ الْمَجْنُونِ حَتَّى يُفِيقَ " .
Sayyidah Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The pen has been lifted from three people: from the sleeping person until he wakes up, from the minor child until he reaches puberty, and from the insane person until he regains sanity."
