Hadith 957

أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ الْمِسْمَعِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُوسَى الأَشْعَرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدْعُو بِهَذَا الدُّعَاءِ : " رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي خَطِيئَتِي ، وَجَهْلِي ، وَإِسْرَافِي فِي أَمْرِي ، وَمَا أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنِّي ، اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي خَطَايَايَ ، وَعَمْدِي وَجَهْلِي ، وَجَدِّي وَهَزْلِي ، وَكُلُّ ذَلِكَ عِنْدِي . اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي مَا قَدَّمْتُ ، وَمَا أَخَّرْتُ ، وَمَا أَسْرَرْتُ ، وَمَا أَعْلَنْتُ ، إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْمُقَدِّمُ ، وَأَنْتَ الْمُؤَخِّرُ ، وَأَنْتَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ " .
The son of Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement from his father: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate with this prayer: "O Allah! Forgive my mistakes, my ignorance, my excesses in my affairs, and everything of which You know better than I do. O Allah! Forgive my faults, my deliberate actions, my intentional and unintentional acts, my seriousness and my jest, and everything that has come from me. O Allah! Forgive what I have done in the past, what I will do in the future, what I have done secretly, and what I have done openly. Surely, You are the One who brings forward and You are the One who delays, and You have power over all things."
