Hadith 902

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا حِبَّانُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ حَيْوَةَ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو هَانِئٍ الْخَوْلانِيُّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحُبُلِيَّ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ قُلُوبَ ابْنِ آدَمَ مُلْقًى بَيْنَ إِصْبَعَيْنِ مِنْ أَصَابِعِ الرَّحْمَنِ كَقَلْبٍ وَاحِدٍ يَصْرِفُهُ كَيْفَ يَشَاءُ " . ثُمَّ يَقُولُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اللَّهُمَّ اصْرِفْ قُلُوبَنَا إِلَى طَاعَتِكَ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Indeed, all the hearts of the children of Adam are between two fingers of the Most Merciful, like a single heart. He turns it as He wills." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated: "O Allah! Turn our hearts towards Your obedience."
