Hadith 901

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلاءِ ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ ، وامْرَأَةٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ ، أَنَّهُمَا سَمِعَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذَنْبِي وَخَطَايَايَ وَعَمْدِي " ، وَقَالَ الآخَرُ : إِنِّي سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَهْدِيكَ لأَرْشَدِ أُمُورِي ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ نَفْسِي " .
Sayyiduna Uthman bin Abu al-As and a woman related to the Quraysh have narrated that both of them heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) supplicating: "O Allah! Forgive my sins, my mistakes, and my intentional actions." While another narrator has stated that I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) supplicating: "O Allah! I seek from You the most guided guidance in my affairs, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of my own self."
