Hadith 880

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ زُهَيْرٍ بِتُسْتَرَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا جَمِيلُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْعَتَكِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الزِّبْرِقَانِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ جَلَّ وَعَلا يَسْتَحْيِي مِنَ الْعَبْدِ أَنْ يَرْفَعَ إِلَيْهِ يَدَيْهِ فَيَرُدَّهُمَا خَائِبَتَيْنِ " .
Sayyiduna Salman al-Farsi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "Indeed, Allah Almighty feels shy from His servant that the servant raises both his hands towards Allah's court and He returns them disappointed."
