Hadith 876

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا خَلِيفَةُ بْنُ خَيَّاطٍ الْعُصْفُرِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ الْفَارِسِيِّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ حَيِيٌّ كَرِيمٌ يَسْتَحْيِي مِنْ عَبْدِهِ إِذَا رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ إِلَيْهِ أَنْ يَرُدَّهُمَا صِفْرًا " .
Sayyiduna Salman al-Farsi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Your Lord is Living and Generous; He feels shy from His servant that when the servant raises both his hands towards Him, He would return them empty."
