Hadith 858

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أُمَيَّةُ بْنُ بِسْطَامٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنِ الْعَلاءِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسِيرُ فِي طَرِيقِ مَكَّةَ ، فَمَرَّ عَلَى جَبَلٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ : جُمْدَانَ ، فَقَالَ : " سِيرُوا هَذَا جُمْدَانُ ، سَبَقَ الْمُفَرِّدُونَ ، سَبَقَ الْمُفَرِّدُونَ " ، قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَا الْمُفَرِّدُونَ ؟ قَالَ : " الذَّاكِرُونَ اللَّهَ كَثِيرًا وَالذَّاكِرَاتُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was traveling on the road to Makkah. He passed by a mountain called "Jumdan." He said: "Move towards this Jumdan. The 'Mufarridun' have gone ahead." The people asked: "Who are they?" The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The men who remember Allah abundantly and the women who remember Allah abundantly."
