Hadith 850

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ نَافِلَةُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عِيسَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ زُبَيْدًا الإِيَامِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ مُصَرِّفٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْسَجَةَ ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ قَالَ : لا إِلَهَ إِلا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لا شَرِيكَ لَهُ ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ ، وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ ، يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ، عَشْرَ مَرَّاتٍ ، كَانَ كَعَدْلِ رَقَبَةٍ أَوْ نَسَمَةٍ " .
Sayyiduna Bara’ (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever recites this phrase ten times: ‘There is no deity except Allah, He is One, He has no partner. Sovereignty belongs to Him, and all praise is for Him. He gives life and He gives death, and He has power over everything.’ The narrator is in doubt, perhaps these are the words: It is like freeing a slave (or freeing a neck).”
