Hadith 848

أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي السَّرِيِّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " قَالَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى : كَذَّبَنِي عَبْدِي وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ ذَلِكَ ، وَشَتَمَنِي وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ ذَلِكَ ، تَكْذِيبِي أَنْ يَقُولَ : أَنَّى يُعِيدُنَا كَمَا بَدَأْنَا ، وَأَمَّا شَتْمُهُ إِيَّايَ أَنْ يَقُولَ : اتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ وَلَدًا . وَإِنِّي الصَّمَدُ الَّذِي لَمْ أَلِدْ وَلَمْ أُولَدْ ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty says: My servant has denied Me, though he should not have done so, and he has spoken ill of Me, though he should not have done so. His denying Me is that he says: How will Allah create us again as He created us the first time? And his speaking ill of Me is that he says: Allah has a child, though his saying this is while I am 'As-Samad' (the Eternal Refuge), I have not begotten, nor was I begotten, and there is none comparable to Me."
