Hadith 819

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُوسَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ بَحْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " إِذَا دَخَلَ الرَّجُلُ بَيْتَهُ فَذَكَرَ اللَّهَ عِنْدَ دُخُولِهِ وَعِنْدَ طَعَامِهِ ، قَالَ الشَّيْطَانُ : لا مَبِيتَ لَكُمْ وَلا عَشَاءَ ، وَإِذَا دَخَلَ فَلَمْ يَذْكُرِ اللَّهَ عِنْدَ دُخُولِهِ ، قَالَ الشَّيْطَانُ : أَدْرَكْتُمُ الْمَبِيتَ ، وَإِذَا لَمْ يَذْكُرِ اللَّهَ عِنْدَ طَعَامِهِ ، قَالَ : أَدْرَكْتُمُ الْمَبِيتَ وَالْعَشَاءَ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "When a person enters his house and remembers Allah at the time of entering and at the time of eating, Satan says (to his companions): 'You will find no place to stay here and no food.' But when a person does not remember Allah upon entering his house, Satan says: 'You have found a place to stay.' And if he does not remember Allah at the time of eating, Satan says: 'You have found a place to stay and food as well.'"
