Hadith 816

أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ دَرَّاجٍ أَبِي السَّمْحِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْهَيْثَمِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " يَقُولُ اللَّهُ جَلَّ وَعَلا : سَيَعْلَمُ أَهْلُ الْجَمْعِ الْيَوْمَ مَنْ أَهْلُ الْكَرَمِ " ، فَقِيلَ : مَنْ أَهْلُ الْكَرَمِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " أَهْلُ مَجَالِسِ الذِّكْرِ فِي الْمَسَاجِدِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Allah Almighty says: Today the people of wealth will know who are the honorable ones." It was asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Who are the honorable ones?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The individuals of the gathering of remembrance held in the mosque are the 'honorable' ones."
