Hadith 814

أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ مَوْهَبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، أَنَّ عَمْرَو بْنَ قَيْسٍ الْكِنْدِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيَّانِ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبِرْنِي بِأَمْرٍ أَتَشَبَّثُ بِهِ . قَالَ : " لا يَزَالُ لِسَانُكَ رَطْبًا مِنْ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Some villagers came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). It was as if one of them said: O Messenger of Allah! Tell me about something that I may hold firmly to. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Your tongue should always remain moist with the remembrance of Allah.
