أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ مُكْرَمٍ الْبَزَّارُ ، بِالْبَصْرَةِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ بَحْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا بَدَلُ بْنُ الْمُحَبَّرِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شَدَّادُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ الرَّاسِبِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْجُرَيْرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اقْرَأْ يَا جَابِرُ " . قَالَ : قُلْتُ : مَا أَقْرَأُ بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي أَنْتَ ؟ قَالَ : " قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ سورة الفلق آية 1 وَ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ سورة الناس آية 1 " . فَقَرَأْتُهُمَا ، فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اقْرَأْ بِهِمَا ، وَلَنْ تَقْرَأَ بِمِثْلِهِمَا " .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Jabir, recite (the Qur'an)." Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I said, "May my parents be sacrificed for you, what should I recite?" He said: "Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Naas." Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I recited both of them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You should recite both of them. You will not recite any other Surah like these two."
