أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ لأَبِي أُسَامَةَ : أَحَدَّثَكُمْ شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ عَبَّاسٍ الْجُشَمِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ سُورَةً فِي الْقُرْآنِ ثَلاثُونَ آيَةً ، تَسْتَغْفِرُ لِصَاحِبِهَا حَتَّى يُغْفَرَ لَهُ تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ الْمُلْكُ سورة الملك آية 1 " ، فَأَقَرَّ بِهِ أَبُو أُسَامَةَ وَقَالَ : نَعَمْ . قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : قَوْلُهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَسْتَغْفِرُ لِصَاحِبِهَا " أَرَادَ بِهِ ثَوَابَ قِرَاءَتِهَا ، فَأَطْلَقَ الاسْمَ عَلَى مَا تَوَلَّدَ مِنْهُ وَهُوَ الثَّوَابُ ، كَمَا يُطْلَقُ اسْمُ السُّورَةِ نَفْسِهَا عَلَيْهِ . وَكَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي خَبَرِ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ أَرَادَ بِهِ ثَوَابَ الْقُرْآنِ ، وَثَوَابَ الْبَقَرَةِ ، وَآلِ عِمْرَانَ ، إِذِ الْعَرَبُ تُطْلِقُ فِي لُغَتِهَا اسْمَ مَا تَوَّلَدَ مِنَ الشَّيْءِ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ كَمَا ذَكَرْنَاهُ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates this statement of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him: "Indeed, there is a surah in the Qur'an which has thirty verses. This surah will continue to seek forgiveness for its reciter until that person is forgiven. (That surah is) «تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ الْمُلْكُ», so Abu Usamah affirmed his statement by saying: Yes."
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The statement of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, "It seeks forgiveness for its companion (i.e., the one who regularly recites or memorizes it)" means the reward of its recitation. Here, the application of the name is upon the result obtained from it, and that is the reward. Just as the application of the name of the surah is also upon its very existence. Similarly, in the narration transmitted from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah, may Allah be pleased with him, the meaning of the Prophet Muhammad's statement is the reward of reciting the Qur'an, Surah Al-Baqarah, and Surah Aal-e-Imran, because the Arabs, in their idiom, sometimes apply a name to the result obtained from it, as we have mentioned earlier.
